H.E. Ambassador Lin Songtian visited Coega and East London Industrial Development Zone in South Africa

On 18-19 September, H.E. Ambassador Lin Songtian visited Coega Industrial Development Zone and East London Industrial Development Zone in Eastern Cape Province.

 

Pepi Silinga, Chief Executive officer of Coega Development Corporation, showed a warm welcome to H.E. Ambassador Lin and gave a detailed introduction about development and advantages of Coega Industrial Development Zone. Silinga said that China FAW Group and BAIC Motor have invested billions of rand in the Zone, reflecting the Chinese investors’ high level of trust. Coega Industrial Development Zone is looking forward to welcoming more Chinese investment, and is willing to provide the best service for Chinese enterprises.

Mr. Simphiwe Kondlo, CEO of East London Industrial Development Zone, warmly welcomed H.E. Ambassador Lin and said that East London Industrial Development Zone covers an area of 4.5 square kilometers and the infrastructure construction has been completed. The Zone welcomes Chinese enterprises to invest and settle, and is willing to provide good environment and a series of preferential policies about land, taxation, and living.

H.E. Ambassador Lin said that through field visit, he was impressed by development of the Zones and services of South Africa. Both Coega Industrial Development Zone and East London Industrial Development Zone have investment conditions, and Chinese Embassy is willing to actively promote Chinese enterprises to invest the Zones, helping South Africa to become a production base in Africa.

During the visit, H.E. Ambassador Lin also visited the investment site of China FAW Group and BAIC Motor, held an in-depth discussion with Chinese enterprises, and showed determination to create a favorable environment for Chinese enterprises to develop in South Africa. Representatives of Chinese enterprises expressed their gratitude to H.E. Ambassador Lin and Chinese Embassy.
