Ambassador Chen said that Communist Party of China and the South African Communist Party are comrades-in-arms, which were founded in the same month of the same year.

Challenged by the COVID-19 pandemic, the two parties have been supporting each other through hard times. Both parties will celebrate their 100th anniversary next year, marking the beginning of a new chapter in history. China is willing to deepen exchanges and cooperation between the parties to promote China-South Africa collaboration in COVID-19 containment and post-COVID-19 economic recovery.

There has been fruitful cooperation in the field of higher education between China and South Africa, while collaboration in technological innovation has made remarkable progress. China wishes to join hands with South Africa and engage in more extensive cooperation in relevant fields so as to embrace the fourth industrial revolution.

Dr. Nzimande congratulated on the success of the Fifth Plenary Session of the 19th CPC Central Committee and the publishing of the third volume of Xi Jinping: The Governance of China. Dr. Nzimande believes that under the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, China will achieve its development goals set out at the Fifth Plenary Session, and China’s development will inject impetus into global economic recovery and growth.

The South African Communist Party greatly appreciates the anti-pandemic aid extended by the Communist Party of China and the Chinese government to South Africa. In light of the upcoming 100th anniversary of the two parties, the South African Communist Party is willing to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with the Communist Party of China for closer China-South Africa relations. Dr. Nzimande spoke highly of the achievements of cooperation between the two countries in higher education and technological innovation over the past few years, which offered a strong boost to South Africa’s development in those fields. He then expressed the wish of South Africa to intensify cooperation with China and facilitate its socio-economic development.
