H.E. Ambassador Tian Xuejun Farewells Senior Officials of Department of International Relations and Cooperation of South Africa
On March 14, H.E. Ambassador Tian Xuejun paid farewell calls on Deputy Director-General Ambassador Anil Sooklal and Chief Director for East Asia and Oceania Ambassador Manelisi Genge of Department of International Relations and Cooperation (DIRCO) of South Africa respectively.
Ambassador Tian said that with the care of the Chinese and South African leaders and the concerted efforts of the two sides, China-South Africa Comprehensive Strategic Partnership is at its best in history. Bilateral cooperation across the board has made steady and fruitful progress. The Chinese side appreciates the unremitting efforts made by the DIRCO for pushing forward the relations and cooperation between China and South Africa, as well as the DIRCO's strong support to the Chinese Embassy in South Africa. The Chinese Embassy stands ready to keep close cooperation and communication with the DIRCO to jointly implement the key projects of cooperation that were jointly identified by leaders of the two countries so as to inject new impetus to the high-level development of China and South Africa relations.
Both Ambassador Sooklal and Ambassador Genge deeply regretted the departure of Ambassador Tian and spoke highly of the important contribution made by Ambassador Tian to the development of South Africa-China relations in the past five years. They expressed the readiness to work together with the Chinese side to speed up the implementation of the the consensus of the two leaders and outcomes of the FOCAC Johannesburg Summit, with a view to promoting bilateral relations to a new high.
