Recently, President Xi Jinping and President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi of Egypt exchanged congratulatory messages to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of China-Egypt diplomatic relations.

In the congratulatory message, Xi Jinping expressed that 60 years ago, the two great countries, China and Egypt, officially established diplomatic relations. Over the past 60 years, with the joint efforts of China and Egypt, both countries have conducted extensive communication and cooperation in politics, economy and trade, people-to-people and cultural exchanges and other fields, yielding fruitful results. China-Egypt relations have become a good example of China's relationship with Arab states and African countries as well as South-South relations. Looking into the future, we remain fully confident in the bright prospect of China-Egypt relations. I am willing to work with you to deepen the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries, so as to better benefit the two countries and peoples.

In the congratulatory message, Abdel Fattah al-Sisi expressed that the two countries enjoy close cooperation in politics, economy, culture and other fields with a high-level coordination in regional and international issues of common concern. Egypt regards Egypt-China relations as the most important and prominent part of Egypt's friendly relationship with foreign countries. Egypt-China cooperative relationship has been elevated to a comprehensive strategic partnership, which fully demonstrates that the leaders and peoples of both countries are determined to constantly improve the level of bilateral cooperation, promote the welfare of peoples and further realize both peoples' expectations of stability and development.
