This Day Foreign Editor Attends Workshop for African Journalists Held in China

       The Opening Ceremony of the Workshop for African Journalists was held at Diaoyutai Hotel on September 20, 2004. Paul Adams, foreign editor of This Day, attend the Ceremony by invitation of Chinese Embassy in South Africa.
     
        Mr. Lu Shaye, Deputy Director-general of the African Department of the Chinese Foreign Ministry delievered his welcoming remarks on the ceremony.
 
        Ambassador Bao Shusheng of the Chinese Foreign Ministry made his presentation on China-Africa relations and China's policy towards Africa.

        Participants of the workshop held discussion with Mr. Liu Jiang, Deputy Dditor-in-chief of Xinhua News Agency in the afternoon of September 20.

       The workshop is one of the implementations of the agreements reached during the 2nd ministerial meeting of China-Africa forum in Addis Ababa last year. 20 journalists from 19 African countries are invited. The course formally starts from September 20 to 27 in Beijing, Chengdu and Shenzhen.
