At the invitation of the Department of Public Service and Administration (DPSA) of the Republic of South Africa, Mr. Wang Shi-Ting, political counsellor of Chinese Embassy, made a presentation at the 5th Senior Management Service (SMS)Conference held in Durban from September 19 to 21. As the only international speaker at the conference, Mr. Wang delivered a speech titled"The Success and Challenges of Poverty Alleviation in Rural China through Capacity-Building and Development-oriented Strategy". The presentation gained wide applause and interest among over 400 SMS conference delegates. During the Conference, Mr. Wang also availed his opportunity to meet with quite a few South African Government senior officials and business elites.

The Senior Management Service Conference is an annual conference organized by the Department of Public Service and Administration (DPSA) of South Africa which is to create a platform and opportunity for promoting excellence in service delivery, to foster professional and ethical behavior and exchange leadership and management ideas and best practice. The theme of the 5th Conference is "Age of Hope: Building Capacity for Accelerated Service Delivery".
