Sierra Leone Broadcasting Corporation (SLBC), Awoko News, Concord Times and The Exclusive Newspaper covered the event.

Ambassador Zhao stated that China attached great importance to the construction of the fixed bio-safety lab and has completed the main structure of the lab building after one month's arduous work. To ensure the early operation of the lab, China chartered an airplane to send the equipment and materials to Sierra Leone and dispatched a 7-member lab expert team to assist the installation and testing of the equipment, which demonstrated again the deep friendship between the two countries and their peoples.

Foreign Minister Kamara and Deputy Health Minister Sawi thanked China for providing several batches of assistance to help Sierra Leone combat Ebola epidemic. They spoke highly of China's commitment to bilateral relations and believed that the lab will not only help Sierra Leone contain Ebola, but also serve the long-term needs of the country to combat infectious diseases.

This batch of equipment and materials includes biologic safety cabinet, PCR detection kit for Ebola virus, automatic extraction of nucleic acid detector, etc. This is the sixth time that China chartered planes to send medical material and personnel to Sierra Leone.

Up till now, China has wasted no time in providing 4 batches of emergency assistance to Sierra Leone, which includes medical materials, capital fund, food supply, mobile lab and medical personnel.
