On August 30, 2017, Foreign Minister Wang Yi noted in a briefing for Chinese and foreign media held by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the Ninth BRICS Summit and Dialogue between Emerging Market Economies and Developing Countries that during last year, centering on the mainline of Stronger Partnership for a Brighter Future, China has been striving to promote economic and practical cooperation among BRICS countries for new breakthroughs, push forward political and security cooperation for new progress, and push people-to-people and cultural exchanges and cooperation for becoming new pillars, which have formed a new pattern of "three-wheel drive" of economy, politics and people-to-people and cultural engagement.
