On the afternoon of September 1, 2017, Li Keqiang met at the Great Hall of the People with President Michel Temer of Brazil, who was in China for a state visit, the BRICS Xiamen Summit and the Dialogue between Emerging Market Economies and Developing Countries.
Li Keqiang expressed that China and Brazil are major developing countries and important emerging economies. Bilateral relations have enjoyed stable and healthy development, yielding fruitful results and promoting regional and global peace and prosperity. The successful meeting between President Xi Jinping and you has effectively advanced the further development of China-Brazil relations. China is willing to, together with Brazil, cement political mutual trust, expand practical cooperation, intensify people-to-people and cultural exchanges and maintain close collaboration under the frameworks such as the United Nations, the G20 and BRICS, so as to make joint efforts in propelling China-Brazil relations and China’s relationship with Latin American countries for greater development.
Li Keqiang pointed out that China and Brazil enjoy huge potential in practical cooperation and the Chinese market is open. It is hoped that the two sides to make joint efforts to optimize trade structure and promote balanced development of bilateral trade through two-way opening. China welcomes Brazil to import more competitive Chinese products. The Chinese government supports competent Chinese enterprises to invest in Brazil and is willing to continuously well implement and push forward bilateral production capacity cooperation in key areas and carry out all-round cooperation in infrastructure construction, electric power, equipment manufacturing, agriculture, energy resources, tourism, sports and other sectors, so as to better achieve mutual benefit and win-win results.
Michel Temer expressed that Brazil-China relations have witnessed sound development. The two countries have committed to strengthening bilateral cooperation and taken a unified stance towards major international issues such as anti-protectionism and dealing with climate change. Brazil is willing to deepen cooperation with China in such fields as agriculture, aviation and energy resources, expand investment and cooperation, strengthen people-to-people and cultural exchanges on tourism, sports and other sectors, and enhance the friendship between the two peoples. Brazil welcomes Chinese enterprises to Brazil for investment and developing business.
